Concepts of Voiced and Unvoiced sounds

 VOICED SOUNDS

The vocal cords vibrate when you make these sounds.

Example: 

• /b/ as in bat
• /d/ as in dog
• /g/ as in go
• /z/ as in zoo

All vowel sounds like /a/, /e/, /i/, etc.

UNVOICED SOUNDS 

The vocal cords do not vibrate.

Example: 

• /p/ as in pat
• /t/ as in top
• /k/ as in cat
• /s/ as in sun
